COACH/PERSONAL TRAINER

BREE WESTBLADE

Growing up I was always average at everything, but never good at one thing. That includes anything within the sport or academic areas. I played hockey for 12 years from a young age, along with swimming, tennis and gymnastics for a short time. After high school, I started CrossFit to help gain fitness and strength for hockey after being sick in Year 12 with glandular fever.

‍I was very skinny, weak, timid, a little shy but if I wanted to do something, I would do it. I soon enjoyed the support and friendly community in the CrossFit space more, and so I stopped hockey to just do CrossFit. This helped me go from not having a lot of confidence and low self-esteem, to really coming out of my shell. It also made me realize I could do more with my body than I ever gave myself credit for.

‍Throughout the years, I've put more into a competitive training approach so that I can compete. During 2022, I finished in the top 100 in the Oceania CrossFit quarterfinals, and also competed in an amateur level at the Oceania Semi-final in Brisbane. My goal is to just keep getting better and better, and see where my potential takes me. From where I started at 18 years old (and even the younger years) to where I am now physically and mentally 6 years on, I truly believe if I can go through that transformation, than others can too.

‍Along my journey, another thing I've developed is independence. A close friend said to me a few years ago that in order for me to grow, I need to work on being independent rather than relying on other people. From that conversation, I really took it on board to learn how to be by myself (I've solo travelled multiple times now), but also how to make my own decisions and interact better with different people to create my own connections with others.

‍I love to coach people who want to learn, want to improve, and who want to be stronger. I want to help others realise that their mind and body are more capable than they think, and that the way their body looks doesn't matter. I help people realign their aesthetic goals with performance and achievement goals.
